MANILA: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, met with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, on the sidelines of his participation in the ministerial meeting marking 50 years since the signing of the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation held in Manila.


The meeting addressed bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as well as ways to enhance joint cooperation across various fields.


The two ministers also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, emphasising the importance of continued consultation and coordination to serve mutual interests and contribute to supporting security and stability at the regional and international levels.


Meanwhile, during his meeting with Anita Anand, Foreign Minister of Canada, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to build upon existing cooperation to serve mutual interests. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments within the framework of coordination and consultation on issues of common interest.

On another front, during his meeting with Dr Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sayyid Badr reviewed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt. These relations are characterised by alignment of views and mutual understanding across various levels.


Both sides discussed ways to elevate bilateral cooperation and expand its scope to achieve mutual interests and benefit the two countries and peoples.


Furthermore, within the framework of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries, the two ministers exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly regarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as ways to contribute to de-escalating tensions and advancing peace efforts to safeguard regional security and stability.


The meetings were attended by Eng Nasser bin Said al Manwari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of the Philippines. — ONA
